Hi, I'm Alexander. I am from a town by the Amazon River. I arrived at a home for abandoned boys in Puerto Alegría on February 28, 2008 when I was 8 years old. I came to this place because my family lived in extreme poverty. The food was very scarce, and many times I had to go to school without eating. It was very terrible. My parents decided to send me to Iquitos for a better future.

When I arrived at Puerto Alegría, my life began to change. I heard the word of God, and I knew Jesus and accepted him as my Lord and Savior. This led to my baptism.

God has used many means to teach me more about Him every day. Although it was very difficult for me to be far from my family, God comforted my heart and helped me to stand in His ways.

I am currently in college. I am studying chemical engineering. It is my first year, and I am very happy for this new stage of my life. I thank God for all his blessings and for all he has done for me and my companions.

To arrive here was the best thing that could happen to me, because I could know the Lord and change my history. I want to become a chemical engineer and serve the Lord. I am currently helping in the leadership of Divine Grace Evangelical Christian Church. It is the church my house parents pastor and the church the boys of the home attend. My desire is that through this work I will continue to grow and can be a blessing for other children and young people. I am grateful to God for His grace.
